Our Limited Edition XYZ Wall Light features a composition of three volumes aligned to the XYZ axis. A cuboid fixture on the X-axes, a cylindrical stem on the Y-axes, and a handblown glass sphere protrudes on the Z-axes. Inspired by De Stijl (meaning, the style), a casual organisation of Dutch painters, architects and sculptors, is one of the more influential of the avant-garde modern art movements. The movement's aim was to promulgate a new design paradigm of harmony and order, by reducing all art to essentials of form and colour. De Stijl's leading members Piet Mondrian (1872-1944) and the architect Gerrit Rietveld (1888-1964), greatly impacted the architectural design of Le Corbusier (1887-1965) and Mies van der Rohe (1883-1969).
